The Merano Multimedia Language Centre has a collection of about 12.000 multi-media titles in over 20 languages. These resources are available for loan or consultation at the Centre, thanks to listening stations and PCs with access to selected specific websites (podcasts, apps, video lessons, and links for language learning).

Personalized services are also offered, including an advisory service for borrowing and using resources, and advice for autonomous language learning.

Available resources and services:
  • Language sections organized by material type: language courses, graded readers, grammar books, as well as comics, video games, and TV series.
  • Up-to-date material for language certificate preparation.
  • the Kids' corner, a colourful space focusing on small children, containing books, animated cartoons, audio books, songs and many different languages to play with!
  • a large lounge is dedicated to reading newspapers and magazines in various languages, to the home video section with films in the original language, and to music
  • Specialist literature on various topics: intercultural learning/teaching, foreign languages, didactics and methodology, new technologies
  • The reference helps you find the most suitable learning resources for your learning needs and goals and answers any questions you may have about the services and activities provided by the Centre.
  • The language tutor provides advice for planning a personalized study path that takes into account individual needs and goals and supports preparation for various language exams.
  • Opportunities for conversation in various languages.
  • Between the Multimedia Language Centre Merano and the Multilingual Centre Bolzano there is a regular interlibrary loan service enabling users to borrow materials from both locations. An interlibrary loan service from other local and national libraries is also active. Download the rules here (text available in German). 


How to register:

registration is free and can be done in the following ways:

  • In person, by filling out the form and presenting an ID and tax code (codice fiscale);
  • Via email, by sending the completed form along with a scanned copy of the ID and health card to mediatecamerano@provincia.bz.it
