The Multilingual Centre is a public cultural institution dedicated to the teaching and autonomous learning of languages, especially German as a second language, as well as to the understanding of other cultures. 

The Centre has a modern library equipped with both print and multimedia resources aimed at all ages and language proficiency levels. The integrated use of new technologies alongside traditional resources makes it a reference point for a broad and diverse audience.

Its vocation as a multicultural center is also evident in the popularity it enjoys among the foreign communities in the city, serving as a stimulating meeting and information point for maintaining known languages and learning the official languages of the province.

The profile of a self-learning center that the Multilingual Centre has developed in recent years aligns with the objectives set by European language policies (life-long learning) and has allowed this facility to establish itself as "the" language library in Bolzano.
